On March 11, 2011 a massive tsunami hit Japan's eastern coast, through the Pacific Ocean. The tsunami hit Sendai, Japan approximately 230 miles northeast of Tokyo. This Tsunami was the largest recorded in Japan. It was more than 100 feet in height and had a speed of 6 miles an hour on land.
